Mom, what is that???
I have failed as a homemaker. This morning Terry wanted me to help him iron a shirt and some pants to wear to school today. He had a "job interview" at school for an upcoming activity they are doing and he wanted to look nice. So he pulled out the ironing board and the iron. I went down to the laundry room to help him, and Zach (the 8-year-old) followed me down. Zach looked at me, looked at what I was doing, looked back and said "what is that Mom?" I replied "the iron." Zach replied "what does it do?" Apparently the only time Zach has actually seen the iron in action is when we use it to melt little craft beads together to make cool designs. Let's hope he finds himself a woman that can iron. Either that or his dad is going to have to give him lessons...he sure isn't going to learn it from me.

Oh, that is funny! I remember you not being a big ironer. When we first moved to Vermont, I remember having a conversation about why you didn't own an ironing board.
Ever since my friend introduced me to Downy Wrinkle Release spray, I haven't ironed either. It's amazing.
That is so funny. I remember ironing everything when I was growing up and I now I rarely iron. Don't feel alone. I'm sure my kids would say the same thing.
So funny! Jacie won't be learning how to iron from me, either. I send all of Ryan's shirts and pants to the cleaners. It is well worth the $35 every couple months! Out of all the chores in the house, ironing is one I hate the most.
Clint does all the ironing in our house. I guess him being in the military has it's advantages:)
Kendall irons all his own stuff. I never, ever iron. I ironed one thing for him five years ago and he didn't like the way I did it. Fine. He does it now. I'm all about buying stuff that doesn't need ironing.
I'm with you there. Scott is the one that irons in the family, not me. He irons Caleb's shirts for church (remember Caleb is 1 year old). It looks good for about 1.2 seconds. I think I'll buy some of that Downy Wrinkle Release spray that Heather mentioned.

that is awesome! i don't iron either. our poor husbands that have to take care of themselves!:)
Just like your friend above, our iron is used 99% of the time by my husband, for church and uniforms. I wonder if the evolution of clothing has eliminated the need of an iron. Hum . . .
Oh, and our iron is used for the beads too. That's what my kids think the iron is for. Next week, we are moving on to iron-ons!
